Blackberry River Inn – high quality on the cheap
Nowadays can be very difficult to find a good quality bead & breakfast without spending a whole lot of money. This fall I’ve decided to go on a backpack tour of New England. I know it’s not as glamorous as a backpack tour of Europe, but at least it’s something. Whole theme of my tour is doing it on the cheap, or as close to cheap one can do it without sacrificing comfort. To that end, today we’re going to have a look at Blackberry River B&B.
Blackberry River Inn B&B – high quality on the cheap
Blackberry River In is a colonial mansion that was built all the way back in 1763. It is actually included on the National Register of Historic Places. The estate is located in Norfolk, Connecticut and has an area of about 27 acres. Main house has 2 premium rooms and 2 suites. Some of the rooms even have a wood-burning fireplace, which is a nice touch.
Behind the main house you can find what they call Carriage House, with simpler deluxe rooms, 12 of them, with queen beds and twin beds. Additionally there are two family suites that feature two rooms and one bathroom. Last but not least, a one room detached cottage can be found. It offers extra privacy.
More interesting features include a pool at the back of the main house, free breakfast and afternoon tea which is included in the price. As far as price goes, you will be happy to know that you can have a room in Blackberry River Inn for as little as $99 per night. That’s a bargain considering the comfort that you get in return. I have very little complaints and a I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone interested in a small but luxurious inn experience.
