Coastal Cookery School mini break

Ideal for birthdays, anniversaries and hen parties of 12 or more people who love food, both eating it and preparing it. Most importantly our overnight escapes are relaxing, great fun and involve lots of eating the finished dishes with a glass of good wine.

After a light breakfast we’ll take you on a hosted trip to the fish market where the day boats land their fish to meet Russell, one of our fishermen. He’ll show you what’s just been landed and what they do with the catch. Once we’ve picked some ingredients for the cookery class it’s off back to the hotel for a masterclass from one of our chefs and the opportunity for you to get stuck in yourself, prepping and making a dish or two.

A delicious feasting lunch follows with some accompanying wine. A chance to eat the fruits of your labour along with some dishes straight from the kitchen.

Overnight accommodation is in one of our lovely Coastal Doubles, waking up to a full Gallivant breakfast the following morning before you depart.

Course Itinerary

Please note this might change with the tides. Your final itinerary will be sent to you a week prior to your arrival.

10:00am    Meet at the hotel for introductions and light breakfast
10:45 – 11:45am    Transport to visit Russell at the fish market to look at and discuss the produce available. Russell will show us how he processes the fish, and where it comes from. Chance to buy whatever is available.
12.00 – 14:00    Cookery School with one of our chefs. This includes a hands-on element so be prepared to roll your sleeves up!
14:00 – 15:00    Sit down to lunchtime feast in The Beach Bistro – showcasing the fish caught by Russell in Rye bay.
